Sunday, January 23, 2022 is the next scheduled quarterly maintenance window day for WR // MISTAR, SMART and other services may be intermittently unavailable through the 8 hour window

In order to apply timely security patches and perform necessary infrastructure upgrades, the Wayne RESA networking/server team sets aside an eight hour work window one Sunday each quarter. 

School district staff should be prepared for the complete outage of all data services on this quarter's Sunday maintenance window, January 23, 2022 between 8 AM and 4 PM. In all likelihood, outages will be minimal and sporadic during the maintenance window as Wayne RESA staff always work to minimize service disruptions whenever possible. However, staff should be prepared for up to eight hours of outage.
 
Please note their next scheduled maintenance day / planned outage will be Sunday April 24, 2022.

Illuminate DNA temporarily down - no ETA on restoration of access

Wayne RESA has just alerted us that there is a system-wide issue at Illuminate that impacts their integrations with student information systems, including MISTAR-Q. While Illuminate Education is working to resolve this issue, they have shut down their integration servers. The MISTAR integrations are temporarily disabled.  This will impact passing grades back to MISTAR grade books. We will keep you updated as we learn more from the vendor.

 Both incoming and outgoing call service is temporarily down across the district. Our phone provider is working on restoration of service.  No ETA as of yet.

Illuminate Ed DnA Maintenance Downtime Saturday January 8th 9 am – 9 pm EST and Sunday January 9th 3 pm – 11 pm EST

Please be advised that Illuminate DnA will be in maintenance and inaccessible on Saturday, January 8th from 9 am – 9 pm EST.

 

Illuminate DnA customers will also be unable to use Lightning Grader to grade assessments on Sunday, January 9th from 3 pm – 11 pm EST.

Upcoming IT Maintenance

 Wayne RESA IT staff have shared the following maintenance announcements: 

 

  1. Wednesday, DECEMBER 22 @ 8 PM - 10 PM2-hour maintenance window. We will be working with our connectivity providers as they transition their network architecture. At times during this maintenance window you may notice that Wayne RESA IT resources and hosted applications are not available – including district Internet connectivity.
  2. Friday, JANUARY 14 @ 9 PM - 1 AM4-hour maintenance window. We will be upgrading our network infrastructure equipment. At times during this maintenance window you may notice that Wayne RESA IT resources and hosted applications are not available.
  3. Canvas Reported Issue Today

UPDATE: Amazon has resolved all of the issues that impacted our Canvas usage. Canvas should work as expected at this point. Please log out and back in if you are still experiencing problems at this point.

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is currently experiencing an outage that is affecting some Canvas users hosted in the (North American) region which includes us. Canvas' status page https://status.instructure.com/ was updated at 10:58 am with this notice and that they are investigating the issue. 

Amazon reports at 11:01: We have identified the root cause of the Internet connectivity to the US-WEST-1 Region and have taken steps to restore connectivity. We have seen some improvement to Internet connectivity in the last few minutes but continue to work towards full recovery.
